FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Who should be recommended to College Connection?
A: Athletes should have some of the following credentials to be considered for invitation:
- Must be a RISING sophomore, junior, or senior in the years of graduation; 2009, 2010, 2011
- Must have exceptional athletic and hockey ability with "scholarship potential" and the desire to play collegiate hockey.
Examples:
- BEST PLAYER on high school team
- All-State Candidate
- HS All America or All-America candidate
- Junior Olympic participant
- Futures National Tournament '07 or Futures Elite participant in 2008
Q: How do I apply for an invitation?
A: Recommendations are the first step toward receiving an invitation. All potential invitees MUST be recommended and ALL recommendations must be supported in writing using the Invitation Request Form (link for FAX)
- High school, Club, Futures and other prominent coaches may recommend invitees through this method.
- Collegiate Coaches may recommend potential invitees directly to Pam Hixon at phixon@whitemountainsports.com
Invitation Request Forms - the initial screening of the IRF (athlete credentials) will begin November 2, 2007. Invitation Request Forms will be accepted and continually reviewed until both locations are full.
Q: When can I expect to receive my invitation?
A: Credentials will be reviewed within 2 weeks of our receiving an Invitation Request Form. The most qualified applicants will receive their invitations within 10 -15 days. Athletes that are less qualified, but still eligible, will receive information pertaining to their status with 1 month. The College Connection will continue to review Invitation Request Forms until the program is full. All 2007 CC participants with their YOG 2009 will automatically receive a CC 2008 invitation. New Invitation mailings will begin November 12th and will continue until camp is full.
Q: If invited, by when do I need to reply?
A: The submission of both the Registration Form and fees should be done as soon as possible. Enrollment at each college Connection location is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. When a site is closed, an alternate site will be offered if possible. Athletes who are closed out may be wait-listed and will be notified regarding their status. ON-LINE Registration will available!
Q: When and where are the locations?
A: JUNE 13 - 16 @ University of Massachusetts and Amherst College, Amherst, MA (Friday - Monday). Late check-in and early check-out is available to accommodate high school academic schedules
* Check-in will be held Friday afternoon from 4 - 5pm
*Check-out will be at 12:00 NOON on

Q: What are the fees for College Connection?
A: College Connection tuition is $595.00. The CC fee includes
housing, meals, a numbered vest, a GAME DVD to take home, plus recruiting
education materials. Additional fees will be charged for the "EXTRA"
additional program registrations (Admission Day and Skills Videos).
Additional CC game DVD can be ordered.
Q: What is the College Connection program like?
A: The curriculum focuses on four areas. 1) Skills and techniques - Master taught for visual learning; 2) Small-sided
tournament games; 3)8v8 Tournament games; and 4) the enrichment program - Recruiting Education lead by
educational specialists.
